It’s hard to know where to begin when it comes to shopping in the fashion capital of the world. Head to the Marais but don’t waste your time in shops that you can find all over; there’s a tangle of tiny streets behind the Rue de Bretagne full of little boutiques worth the detour. Here are my top picks:
Merci: Probably the coolest concept store in Paris, this converterted wallpaper factory is full of vintage-style homewares and clothes as well as smart stationery. There’s also two cafes and a restaurant inside so you can practically spend the day here. merci-merci.com/
Royal cheese: Skinny jeans, sweatshirts and perfect plaid shirts as well as the best leather shoes and bags. royalcheese.com/en/
The Broken Arm: A bright white shop come café. Carefully curated bands include Patrik Ervell, Carven and Gyakusou. the-broken-arm.com/en/
Don’t miss: A pit stop at Market des Enfant Rouges for lunch. The oldest covered market in Paris is now a great restaurant serving traditional French food with a Japanese twist. les-enfants-rouges.fr/
