Despite having never been, I’m obsessed with the interiors of this palace hotel in Jaipur. Originally built by a Maharaja for his wife in 1729, the palace became a hotel that hosted the likes of Princess Diana and Jackie O in its heyday. Following a period of neglect, a redesign has brought the hotel slap-bang up to date: old furniture, portraits and photographs have kept the heritage of the palace in place – but little else remains and a total of 46 bright-as-a-button wallpapers were created especially. Where could be more perfect to have breakfast in the Pink City than a dining room named ’51 shades of pink’?
