Fashion Forecast for 2017 by contributer Rosie Arkell-Palmer, fashion assistant at AnOther Magazine
Welcome satin to your wardrobe; velvet's sexy younger sister. Ditch the pyjamas, this trend is glam: ruched tops, ruffled dresses and maxi skirts in jewel tones. If in doubt look to Sies Marjan's spring/summer '17 collection for a how-to guide.
For some escapism, look to the exotic styles of the East. Wear vintage silk kimonos over jeans, shirts with bell sleeves and oriental embroidery on anything and everything.
3. CHUNKY HEEL
We're stomping into 2017 with a chunky heel, elegantly balanced out with a slender ankle. If this green snakeskin pair from make-up artist-of-the-moment Isamaya Ffrench's collaboration with Finery are a little too out-there for you, then dip your toes into the trend with this classic black pair from Spanish footwear favourites Uterque.
2017 BRAND TO WATCH: RIXO London
Founded in 2015 by London College of Fashion friends Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCluskey, RIXO is starting to gain a cult following. It's the place to find British, vintage-inspired womenswear - think silk tea dresses in clashing prints.
