The most colourful addition to London's dining scene arrived with the recent launch of Darcie & May Green. Based on the Grand Union Canal in Paddington Central, this restaurant & bar is comprised of two eccentric-looking city barges, designed by iconic pop artist Sir Peter Blake (best-known for his design of the cover sleeve of Sgt. Pepper, the Beatles' best-selling album in 1967). Inspired by laid-back, antipodean style dining, delicious and innovative dishes are served up from dusk until dawn on the dining barge, Darcie. From coconut toast with yogurt, bee pollen and maple syrup on the brunch menu, to the soft shelled crab tempura or the Sri Lankan jackfruit curry served later in the day, food choices are aplenty. Head to May to sample some of the bar's sumptuous cocktails, craft beers or New World wines and stay aboard until the small hours.
