‘Love your calling with a passion, it is the meaning of your life’ Auguste Rodin
What better place to escape to on a bank holiday than Paris? A train ride away and an art lover’s paradise. Visit old friends like the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, Monet’s Waterlilies at the Orangerie, or make new ones at the major exhibitions of Paul Klee or Picasso, both open now. Auguste Rodin’s The Kiss, which depicts the doomed lovers, Paolo and Francesca wrapped in a blissfully passionate embrace, is probably one of the most romantic artworks ever made. See it in delicate, perfectly carved marble at the newly refurbished Musée Rodin. Set within a stately mansion on the Left Bank it truly takes your breath away.
